Established in 2003 by Chef Christopher Farrugia, this charming bistro has become a cherished fixture in Malta’s historic capital.
Chef Farrugia’s culinary journey began in the seaside village of Marsascala, where he opened his first restaurant at just 23. After honing his craft in London under the tutelage of acclaimed chef Marco Pierre White, he returned to Malta with a vision: to elevate local cuisine using the principles of Haute Cuisine and the slow food movement.
Ambrosia first gained popularity for its elegant yet unpretentious lunches, serving Valletta’s professional crowd with fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes in a warm, relaxed setting. Over the years, as the city evolved into a vibrant cultural and tourist hub, so too did Ambrosia, expanding its appeal while staying true to its roots.
Today, Ambrosia continues to offer an ever-changing menu that celebrates seasonality, simplicity, and quality.
